The Lehman Center for Transportation Research (LCTR) at Florida International University (FIU) organized a 1.5-day symposium on Transportation System Operations and Management (TSM&O) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The event took place on April 9 and 10, 2025, with 120 registrants including 35% representation from the public sector, 55% from the private sector, and 10% from academia.

The symposium focused on emerging technologies and their application in transportation engineering practices and featured engaging sessions on TSM&O Public Sector Perspective, Private Sector Perspective, Workforce Development, Data Analytics, AI, Digital Twins, Connected and Automated Infrastructure and Vehicles, Applying TSM&O to Support FIFA World Cup 2026, and Other recent TSM&O Advances. The Symposium also included a FIFA World Cup Student Business Case Competition. The event was a major success in both content and organization, with many attendees highlighting it as a valuable platform for information sharing, collaboration, and networking opportunities.
